LMU Munich: Postdoc: High-Efficiency Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Solar Cells
This is a postdoctoral position in the Aydin Group, Department of Chemistry, LMU Munich. The work is on high-efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells for use on Earth and in space. You will work closely with PhD researchers on device development, characterization and simulation. The contract is for 1 year. It suits an experienced tandem-cell fabricator with a PhD.
- Typical window: the page says the application deadline is open until filled
What you'll do
- Carry out advanced device characterization, experimental loss analysis and simulations for single- and multijunction solar cells
- Run stability tests of tandem devices for terrestrial and extraterrestrial applications
- Manage your assigned research tasks and deliver project outputs on time
- Present results at project meetings, in peer-reviewed publications and at international conferences, and write regular technical reports
- Support proposal writing and teach in the Physical Chemistry Department for up to 25% of your time
Who can apply
- You need a PhD in chemistry (physical chemistry preferred), physics, engineering, materials science or a closely related field
- You need a strong track record in fabricating high-efficiency perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells
- You need strong experimental skills with thin-film deposition and materials-processing tools
- You must be able to design experiments, apply advanced characterization methods and interpret complex datasets
- You must be able to work well in a closely connected research team
- Machine learning or programming experience is an advantage but not required
How to apply
