Xcimer Energy: Summer 2027 Internship: Mechanical Engineering

Xcimer Energy is developing laser-driven inertial fusion energy. This is the mechanical engineering posting of its 12-week summer 2027 internship at its Denver headquarters. Interns work with an expert mentor on hardware and analysis.

What you'll do

• Do mechanical design and hardware development
• Run mechanical and thermal analysis with finite element analysis
• Contribute to systems or manufacturing engineering
• Work with a mentor on real engineering problems such as structures, mechanisms and optics

Who can apply

• Enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or PhD programme in mechanical, electrical, nuclear or a related engineering discipline or physics
• Must be a US citizen or national, permanent resident, refugee or asylee
• Able to be on-site in Denver for the 12-week programme
